Also means
to make itch
Usage Note
Démanger is used impersonally — ça me démange means 'it itches me / I am itching'. The construction always uses an indirect object: la main lui démange ('his hand is itching him'). Figuratively, avoir les mains qui démangent ('to have itchy hands') means to be itching to act or fight.
Examples
"Cette blessure me démange beaucoup."
Natural Translation
This wound itches me a lot.
