Usage Note
Tradition is used much as in English. The adjective traditionnel(le) and adverb traditionnellement derive from it. De tradition means 'traditionally' as a fixed phrase: c'est une fête de tradition ('it's a traditional celebration').
Examples
"C'est une vieille tradition dans notre famille."
Natural Translation
