Usage Note
Rock in French refers almost exclusively to the musical genre; for the geological sense (a rock, a stone) French uses roche (f) or rocher (m). It is invariable as a borrowed noun and used with the masculine article: le rock, un concert de rock. The adjective rock (invariable) also describes style: une tenue rock.
