Usage Note

Relativement softens an assertion by indicating that something is true only in relation to a reference point — c'est relativement facile (it's relatively easy). It is formed from the adjective relatif/relative plus -ment. The phrase relativement à (with regard to) is a formal alternative to par rapport à.
