Recours is masculine and invariable in spelling (singular and plural are identical: un recours, des recours). In legal language, former un recours or introduire un recours means to file an appeal. The expression en dernier recours ('as a last resort') is common in both formal and everyday French. Sans recours means 'without recourse'.
