Usage Note
Lundi comes from Latin lunae dies, 'day of the moon'. Unlike English, French days of the week are not capitalized. Le lundi (with the article) means 'on Mondays' as a regular occurrence, while lundi alone (without article) means 'this coming Monday' or 'last Monday'.
Examples
"La réunion est lundi matin."
Natural Translation
The meeting is Monday morning.
