Usage Note
Froussard is an informal, mildly pejorative word for a coward, derived from la frousse (informal for 'fright' or 'fear'). The feminine form is froussarde. It is lighter in register than lâche ('coward', 'cowardly') and closer to 'scaredy-cat' in tone. Avoir la frousse means 'to be scared stiff'.
Examples
"Ne sois pas froussard, entre dans la pièce sombre!"
