Also means
starter (first course of a meal)
Usage Note
Entrée is a false friend for English speakers: in French it means the entrance or the first course of a meal (starter/appetiser), not the main course. In North American English 'entrée' has shifted to mean the main course — the opposite of its French sense. The plural les entrées in a restaurant always refers to starters.
Examples
"L'entrée est une soupe à l'oignon."
Natural Translation
The starter is an onion soup.
