complet

complete, full

adjective kohm-PLEH Less Common

Also means

full (no vacancy)

Usage Note

Complet has a silent final -t; the feminine form complète voices the final syllable. On signs, complet means 'no vacancies' or 'sold out'. The noun un complet also means 'a suit' (clothing), though this is a slightly dated usage. Au complet means 'in full', as in l'équipe au complet ('the whole team').

Examples

"L'hôtel est complet ce soir."

Natural Translation

The hotel is full tonight.
