Also means
feasible
Usage Note
Viable is used in French in both biological contexts (a foetus viable — a viable foetus) and in business or policy (un projet viable — a workable project). In French it tends to feel somewhat more formal than its English equivalent. The adverb viablement exists but is rare; prefer de façon viable.
Examples
"Ce plan d'affaires n'est pas viable à long terme."
Natural Translation
This business plan is not viable in the long term.
