Usage Note
Totalement is an intensifying adverb used in both formal and informal French — c'est totalement faux means 'that is completely false'. It is more emphatic than entièrement and slightly more neutral in register than complètement. The root adjective total means 'total', and the noun totalité means 'totality' (en totalité = 'in full').
Examples
"Je suis totalement d'accord avec toi."
Natural Translation
