Usage Note
Séquelle almost always appears in the plural séquelles, referring to the lingering after-effects of an illness, injury, or trauma — for example les séquelles d'un accident. Using it in the singular is uncommon outside medical texts.
Examples
"Il souffre encore des séquelles de l'accident."
Natural Translation
He still suffers from the after-effects of the accident.
Literal Translation
He suffers still from-the after-effects of the accident.
