Usage Note
Sus survives mainly in fixed legal and administrative phrases: sus-mentionné (above-mentioned), sus-cité (cited above), en sus de (in addition to). In modern spoken French it is not used as a standalone adverb; learners encounter it almost exclusively in written legal texts.
