Souffleur in theatre refers to the prompter who whispers forgotten lines to actors from a concealed position, traditionally a small box at the front of the stage called le trou du souffleur ('the prompter's hole'). It also means a glass-blower (souffleur de verre) or a blower device. The feminine is souffleuse.
