Usage Note

Sociable is invariable in masculine/feminine — it does not change its ending. It describes someone who enjoys company and gets along easily with others, slightly more formal in register than sympa (short for sympathique). The antonym is insociable or asocial. The related noun sociabilité (f) describes the quality of being sociable.
