Revers (the final 's' is always present, silent) has two common meanings: a setback or reversal of fortune (subir un revers), and the lapel or facing of a garment (le revers de la veste). In tennis, un revers is a backhand stroke. Le revers de la médaille ('the other side of the coin') is a fixed expression for the downside of something.
