Usage Note

Repousser has two distinct senses: to reject or repel (repousser une attaque — to repel an attack; repousser une offre — to turn down an offer) and to grow back (ses cheveux repoussent — her hair is growing back). It can also mean to postpone: repousser une réunion means to push back a meeting.
