Rancard (also spelt rencard) is a colloquial term for an arranged meeting or romantic date. Avoir un rancard avec quelqu'un means 'to have a date with someone'. In older argot, rancard also meant a tip-off or piece of inside information. It is informal register — use rendez-vous in formal contexts.
