Also means
snag, hitch
Usage Note
Pépin has two common meanings: the seed or pip of a fruit (apple, grape), and informally a problem or snag (avoir un pépin = 'to have a hitch'). The seedless variety of fruit is called sans pépins. In everyday speech the informal sense ('un petit pépin') is very frequent — more so than the literal botanical sense.
Examples
"Il y a un petit pépin avec la voiture."
Natural Translation
There's a small problem with the car.
