naturellement
naturally, of course
adverb nah-tyoo-rehl-MAHN Less Common
Usage Note
Naturellement functions both as a factual adverb (il respire naturellement — he breathes naturally) and as a conversational filler meaning 'of course' or 'obviously'. In the latter use it can sound slightly formal or even ironic; bien sûr is the more common everyday equivalent. The underlying adjective is naturel (natural), and nature itself is also widely used as an adjective meaning plain or unadulterated (un yaourt nature — a plain yogurt).
Examples
"Elle parle naturellement sans accent."
Natural Translation
