Usage Note

Lynx is invariable in the plural — des lynx — because it already ends in x. The expression avoir des yeux de lynx (to have eyes like a lynx) means to have very sharp eyesight. The Eurasian lynx (lynx boréal) was reintroduced in parts of France from the 1970s onward.
