Usage Note
Balader is informal; the reflexive se balader (to go for a stroll, to wander around) is by far the more common form in speech. Une balade (not to be confused with une ballade, a literary ballad) means a stroll or a casual outing. The word has a relaxed, colloquial register.
Examples
"On s'est baladés dans le parc toute la journée."
Natural Translation
We strolled around the park all day.
