aussi

also

adverb oh-SEE Common

Also means

too

Usage Note

Aussi means 'too' or 'as well' after a verb, but slid to the front of a clause it flips to 'therefore' and triggers inversion. In comparisons it sets up aussi … que (as … as), and moi aussi is the standard 'me too', countered by moi non plus after a negative.

Examples

"Moi aussi, j'ai faim."

Natural Translation

Me too, I'm hungry.

Literal Translation

Me also I-have hunger
