Usage Note

Sincèrement is used both as a sentence adverb ('Sincerely, I think...') and as a letter closing (Sincèrement vôtre). It is formed regularly from the adjective sincère + -ment. In speech, it can introduce an honest opinion the speaker wants to flag as candid.
