sa

his

adjective sah Common

Also means

her

Usage Note

Sa is the feminine-singular twin of son, agreeing with the thing owned rather than the owner — so sa maison is his or her house, with no clue to the possessor's sex. Before a feminine word starting with a vowel it gives way to son, as in son amie, purely for smoother sound.

Examples

"Elle adore sa famille."

Natural Translation

She loves her family.
