Usage Note

Réfléchir means to think carefully or to ponder, making it more deliberate than penser. Réfléchir à quelque chose ('to think about something') is the standard construction. The same verb also means to reflect light or an image, as in le miroir réfléchit la lumière ('the mirror reflects the light'). It is a regular -ir verb of the second conjugation group.
