Ra (also spelled Rê in French scholarly texts) is the ancient Egyptian sun deity and one of the most important gods of the Egyptian pantheon. In French crossword puzzles and school mythology lessons, Ra appears frequently as a short answer. The spelling Rê with a circumflex is preferred in academic and Egyptological writing.
