Usage Note

Pore refers to a tiny opening in skin or a plant surface through which gases or fluids pass. The phrase avoir les pores dilatés (to have enlarged pores) is common in cosmetics. Note that pore is masculine and should not be confused with the verb porer or with port (harbour); the final e is silent.
