Usage Note
Péruvien functions as both an adjective and a noun: un Péruvien is a Peruvian man and une Péruvienne is a Peruvian woman. As a noun it takes a capital letter; as an adjective it is lowercase. In French geography lessons the adjective describes the Andean country Peru (le Pérou), and the phrase c'est le Pérou is a common idiom meaning 'it's a gold mine' or 'it's incredibly valuable'.
