Usage Note
Os has a tricky pronunciation: the singular un os is pronounced 'oss', but the plural des os is pronounced 'oh' (the 's' becomes silent in the plural). Avoir les os or jusqu'aux os (to the bone) signals exhaustion or being soaked through. L'os à moelle (marrow bone) is a delicacy in French cuisine.
Examples
"Le chien ronge son os."
Natural Translation
The dog gnaws its bone.
