Usage Note
Morve is the everyday, informal word for nasal mucus. It also names a serious bacterial disease of horses (la morve or glanders), which is contagious to humans, though this sense is rare outside veterinary contexts. The adjective morveux (snotty, cheeky) is very common in spoken French, often applied to impudent children: petit morveux.
Examples
"Elle a essuyé la morve sur le visage de son fils."
Natural Translation
She wiped the snot off her son's face.
