Also means
best
Usage Note
Meilleur is the irregular comparative of bon (good), so it means 'better'; with the article, le meilleur means 'the best'. Don't confuse it with mieux, the comparative of the adverb bien (well) — you say un meilleur livre but je vais mieux. Meilleur ami (best friend) is an everyday phrase.
Examples
"C'est le meilleur restaurant de la ville."
Natural Translation
It is the best restaurant in the city.
