Also means
to leak
Usage Note
Fuir is irregular and its conjugation is shared with s'enfuir (to escape, to run away). It can mean to flee a place or a person (fuir ses responsabilités, to run away from one's responsibilities) and, for a pipe or container, to leak (le robinet fuit, the tap is leaking). The noun fuite means both 'flight' (escape) and 'leak'.
Examples
"Il doit fuir la ville au plus vite."
Natural Translation
He must flee the city as quickly as possible.
