Usage Note
Drôle is ambiguous in a way English 'funny' is: it can mean amusing (une histoire drôle = a funny story) or odd/peculiar (c'est drôle, il ne répond pas = 'it's strange, he's not answering'). Context usually disambiguates. The expression drôle de before a noun intensifies strangeness: un drôle de type = a weird fellow.
Examples
"Il m'a raconté une histoire très drôle."
Natural Translation
