Usage Note
douer is almost exclusively used in the passive or past-participial construction être doué(e) pour — 'to be gifted at'. Saying il est doué pour la musique ('he is gifted for music') is far more natural than using the active infinitive. The adjective doué can stand alone as a compliment.
Examples
"Elle est douée pour les langues."
Natural Translation
She is gifted for languages.
