Usage Note
Décapotable derives from décapoter (to fold down a hood) and is both the noun for a convertible car and an adjective (une voiture décapotable). The form is the same in masculine and feminine, taking only an -s in the plural (décapotables). The synonym cabriolet is also common, especially for smaller open-top cars.
