Usage Note
Croix is invariable — its plural form is also croix (no added -s). It refers to the geometric shape, the Christian cross, or a mark made in the shape of an X. La Croix-Rouge is the Red Cross. The expression faire une croix sur quelque chose means 'to give something up for good'.
