Usage Note

Blasé is one of the French words adopted into English virtually unchanged. In French it describes someone so accustomed to pleasures or excitement that nothing impresses them anymore. The feminine is blasée; one can also use the noun phrase avoir l'air blasé (to look bored and unimpressed).
