Usage Note

Ars is an equine-anatomy term for the fold where a horse's foreleg meets the chest. It survives mainly in horsemanship and veterinary language, as in saigner un cheval aux ars ('to bleed a horse at the ars'). It is unrelated to Latin ars ('art').
