Usage Note

Abricot names both the fruit and the warm orange-yellow colour (une robe abricot). The final 't' is silent. La confiture d'abricot (apricot jam) is a French staple; abricot sec means dried apricot. The adjective abricoté describes a glaze or flavour of apricot in pastry.
